Hewlett Packard to Sell Three Year Batteries in Laptops

Hewlett Packard has reached an agreement with Boston Power for its three year Sonata lithium-ion batteries. The batteries are set to be used in 70 per cent of Hewlett Packard?s consumer notebook line. The laptops, which will be sold for $149.99 a piece, will fit into 18 of the manufacturer?s notebooks, and will be sold either as part of a notebook, as an upgrade or as a retrofit. The agreement follows Hewlett Packard?s announcement in December that it would sell the Sonata technology as the ?HP Enviro Series?, pricing the batteries at $20 to $30 over its other batteries. The batteries are guaranteed to last for three years.
